چکیده

Pharmacogenomics studies the involvement of interindividual variations in DNA sequence into different drug responses (especially adverse drug reactions). Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) process is a means for discovering new pharmacogenomic knowledge units in biological databases. However data complexity makes it necessary to guide the KDD process by representation of domain knowledge. Three domains at least are in concern: genotype, drug and phenotype. The approach described here aims at reusing whenever possible existing domain knowledge units in order to build a modular formal representation of domain knowledge in pharmacogenomics. The resulting ontology is called SO-Pharm for Suggested Ontology for Pharmacogenomics. Various situations encountered during the construction process are analyzed and discussed. A preliminary validation is provided by representing with SOPharm concepts some well-known examples of pharmacogenomic knowledge.

Pharmacogenomics in Pediatric Oncology: Review of Gene—Drug Associations for Clinical Use †

During the 3rd congress of the European Society of Pharmacogenomics and Personalised Therapy (ESPT) in Budapest in 2015, a preliminary meeting was held aimed at establishing a pediatric individualized treatment in oncology and hematology committees. The main purpose was to facilitate the transfer and harmonization of pharmacogenetic testing from research into clinics, to bring together basic an...

طراحی سامانه هوشمند ساخت هستان نگار به کمک شبکه عصبی ARTو روشC-value

In recent years, many efforts have been done to design ontology learning methods and automate ontology construction process. The ontology construction process is a time-consuming and costly procedure for almost all domains/applications, so automating this process is a solution to overcome the knowledge acquisition bottleneck in information systems and reduce the construction cost. In this artic...

Modular Construction of Models Towards a Consistency Proof for the Foundational Ontology DOLCE

We discuss the problem of consistency proofs for large and complex first-order theories originating from the realm of ontologies. In particular, we argue that ‘standard’ automated reasoning methods are often insufficient for proving such consistency results. We advocate an approach where a global model of a theory is built from smaller models together with amalgamability properties between such...

Preliminary Chinese Term Classification for Ontology Construction

An ontology can be seen as a representation of concepts in a specific domain. Accordingly, ontology construction can be regarded as the process of organizing these concepts. If the terms which are used to label the concepts are classified before building an ontology, the work of ontology construction can proceed much more easily. Part-of-speech (PoS) tags usually carry some linguistic informati...

Ontology Language Extensions to Support Localized Semantics, Modular Reasoning, and Collaborative Ontology Design and Ontology Reuse

Modular approaches to design and use of ontologies are essential to the success of the Semantic web enterprise. We describe P-OWL (Package-based OWL) which extends OWL, a widely used ontology language that supports modular design, adaptation, use, and reuse of ontologies. P-OWL localizes the semantics of entities and relationships in OWL to modules called packages. P-OWL and the associated tool...
